Fear: is an emotional response to threats and danger. It is a basic survival mechanism occurring in response to a specific stimulus, such as pain or the threat of pain.(Wikipedia)
Every time we choose safety, we reinforce fear. (Cheri Huber)
Death is not the biggest fear we have; our biggest fear is taking the risk to be alive — the risk to be alive and express what we really are.(Don Miguel Ruiz)
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.(Eleanor Roosevelt)
Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.(Marie Curie)
He who fears to suffer, suffers from fear. (French Proverb)
In the forest that our mind is there is always the presence of fears. I tend to see fear as two little people having an argument within my mind. One of them is positive, the other one is negative but in the end I am both of them. I am aware of how much I can influence their argument, it all depends on my own personal choice of whom I am going to support and let win. This piece in the photos is a representation of this idea. I think that it is a good thing to own our fears and not the other way around, don’t you think?
Have a wonderful day my friend and don’t be afraid of trying something new in your life once in a while.
Lots of love!
Elsita 🙂
Oh my goodness that is unbelievably beautiful!
Fancy! I like the 3D element.
Fear grips me at least once a month and makes it impossible to do anything. I hate it, but I love the triumph when I overcome it.
fantastic, love this I just added you to my list, because I am blown away at all your wonderful creations!
Hej Elsa,
WOW!!! I’m totally blown away by what you can do with paper.
The whole concept is so stunning to look at and at the same time it symbolizes the way you see fear. Love the quotations.
At this moment I’m working really hard and I hope I can show you my progress in a couple of weeks. You certainly know how to motivate me!!
But for now have a great weekend and I’ll see you monday.

The human brain is capable of only one strong emotion at a time, and if it be filled with curiosity or scientific enthusiasm, there is no room for fear. SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE
I think that is one of my favorite fear quotes and the Marie Curie one you used above.
Your 3D papercut didn’t just blow me away I think it sent me to another planet. A planet where we can all walk alone in the forest at any time of the day or night and use all our mental facilities to observe the beauty of nature because we fear nothing. I think your new president has lessened the fear of the world.
Brava!
I conquered my fear of sharing my art in my first art show… I’ve done art commercially for years, but to finally put out a drawing that expressed what I wanted to express… that is harder than people realize!!! I try to chose love over fear every day. That is especially important when meeting people who are different from ourselves.
I love your papercuts!!! There is so much attention to detail in them!
Very eloquent Elsita!
I threw fear out the window long ago, along with worry! It is a battle to stay positive some days and I like your vision of it. I ask my 5 year old daughter to tell me every day that she is going to be “happy today”. Plant the positive seed and she is in control of her day, one with out fear. She has an amazing sense of humor and is so able at this point to snap herself and those around her out of their “fear”. She at 5, has gained a control that most adults have lost. Thank you for posting this, your beautiful art will hopefully grab the attention of someone who needs to read your beautiful words.
This just bowled me over x
Thanks Elsita, I soooooo needed to read this today, exactly how I’m feeling, 2 people in my head having a battle!!! When I open my heart and let love in then the fear dissolves….not always easy, I loved the quotes too! xx
I love it! I love all your art so much Elsita! Your blog is always so comforting and wise too… I love to read your inspiration behind each piece of artwork you make! You always make excellent and wise points that stay with me for days! You keep me thinking…
A transformational piece.
Great.
Stunning! You are so inspiring, I just can’t tell you enough how beautiful your work is.
So inspiring, thank you for sharing your talent and your insights.
de tan bonito alucinante, un gran beso artista
Incredible piece, Elsa. And every quote resonates.
Both what you wrote and the paper cut is beautiful Elsa!
I am still working on my altered book on fear and decided to have it be about both Faith and Fear.
If you click on Flassie I put a link up on my blog to Viginia Flynns website. I seen her on OPB’s Art Beat. She does papercuts too.
God Bless You and Yours and Your Creative Life!!!
Strangely enough before I started reading the quotes I kept thinking of The Garden of Eden when I was looking at this extraordinary piece of work. Of temptation and giving into it and what results when we do.
To be fearless and resist temptation – a message for all of us, including the new President!
Oh my.
Elsita, this is beautiful :o)
I love the significant meaning of your creations. They are full of love and bravery.
xox,
Linnea
as always, i am thrilled to be here and just blown away by your artistic talent and skill. i love all the quotes. beautiful work. *
Precisamente atravieso un época en la que me veo obligada a miras a algunos de mis miedos de frente, y estas citas me ayudan. Gracias. Tu escultura tan simbólica me parece preciosa. Enhorabuena otra vez.
The art work combined with the quotes just blew me away, I love it all!
Fear has taken a hold on me for a very long time. I just fired “Mr Fear” this morning.
Thank you for such inspiring work.
I love the meaning to be found in this work and how the papercut leaves unify the composition while highlighting the figures. Your choice of colour is so calming and thoughtful. Do you make these choices consciously or from instinct and experience?
wow! i love this! thank you, elsita! =)
Es precioso elsa, me encanta tu trabajo. desde el día que me topé con tus cosas por la web no hay día que no miré por si has actualizado.
mua!
Your work is exquisite and poignant. Reminds me of this quote by Anais Nin: “It takes courage to push yourself to places that you have never been before… to test your limits… to break through barriers.”
Stunning! So glad I came across your blog. Your artwork is amazing
This work of art is stunning! I would love to feature this and other images from your blogs on my blog. Please let me know if you have an issue with it.
Your work is unbelievably beautiful.
Incredible! You need to do a video of how you cut all of these beautiful designs. Are you intense while you cut or relaxed? The quote go perfectly as well.
This is great! i love the quotes. What inspired you to create this piece, and how long did it take you?
I was sent here by Dispatch from LA and am glad I came. Beautiful work, amazing. Your biography is also lovely and touching. What seems most fortuitous for me is your posting on fear. I also live in the LA area in a wilderness interface and, while the current fires are not threatening us directly, we’ve been through a fire on our property and I struggle to be sane when fire weather is upon us. These words are a blessing to me. Thank you and the powers that move us.
Truly inspiring quotes and awesome papercutting !
What an amazing artist you are.

Building supplies is again a good place for locating an entry level construction job.

We are very thorough together with your zxbttr.pink2.net and those happen to be usually displayed backyard, but still search more used in comparison with I expected. Bomber outdoor jackets searched chic And those do not ever the moment they start out falling.
