Lately me and all brazilians have been very sad because of the environmental tragedy 90 miles from my house in the city of Mariana. A large mining company (Samarco / Vale) negligently caused an environmental disaster that spilled many tons of contamined mud killing people and a woooonderful and loooong river. Seeing the beautiful and dramatic papercut of the woman, as red mud, I wondered your artistic interpretation to this tragedy … Best wishes and congratulations! Reply Elsa Mora on November 26, 2015 at 9:03 am Dear Bernadete, I’m so sorry about that unfortunate tragedy. I didn’t know that it was close to where you live. I really hope that the situation improves somehow. I send my love and my best wishes! Elsa Mora recently posted…New Papercuts. Reply Bernadete Fiorini on November 26, 2015 at 1:48 pm Thank you, Elsa! Reply Elsa Mora on April 9, 2016 at 1:23 pm Hi Ted, for cutting paper some artists use knives, such as X-acto. But there are many other types of knives. Some artists use scissors. And some artists use both.
